Young Leaders' Forum

The think.BDPST Young Leaders’ Forum (YLF) features outstanding young professionals (aged 24-38) soon to become important actors and decision-makers in the fields of innovation, technology, digitalisation, e-Governance, environmental science, energy studies, and other study areas connected to the current topics of YLF.  YLF gathers young professionals from the V4 countries, CE region, and the EU who are active in the field of innovation and provides them a platform where innovative ideas and initiatives can be shared to implement new solutions and inventions. YLF connects experts from the fields of social sciences, legal studies, and natural sciences to create a bridge between these fields and help young decision makers to make their innovations more effective and better understand different aspects of current regional and global trends and challenges. At the same time, YLF makes it possible for these young professionals to improve their leadership potential and learn new skills that will make them more competitive in their fields of expertise.

The main purpose of YLF is to foster a lively dialogue and create a network among young innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs, PhD researchers, policy experts active in public administration, and young professionals working at companies that are investing in innovative projects. During the four-day event, participants will have the opportunity to exchange best practices, experience, ideas, and knowledge, and improve their skills through participating in panel discussions, seminars, and workshops.

The programme of YLF 2021 will focus on several thought-provoking questions, among others, challenges related to e-Governance and digital security, and green energy developments in the V4 region.

Start-up Expo

The aim of the Start-up Expo is to bring together the brightest start-up solutions and take a glimpse into the opportunities of this emerging sector.

As the side event of think.BDPST conference, Start-up Expo is an international exhibition joined by representatives of the start-up world. In the previous years, innovative enterprises, innovators, and start-ups had the opportunity to present their ideas, solutions, and prototypes in front of an international audience and investors.

The Start-up Expo includes Pitch Sessions and several interactive workshops that provide a platform for talented people full of ideas, start-ups, SMEs, and corporations to introduce their activities and ideas of how to create an ecosystem of innovation.

In 2019, the focus of Start-up Expo was on smart cities, smart homes, new technologies in regional development, and new ways affecting our lives in the digital societies and democracies.

In 2018, 17 exhibitors and a great number of visitors visited the Expo, in which start-ups from the transportation industry in the Visegrad region and the UK were in the spotlight. The event was organised in partnership with the Budapest Enterprise Agency.

In 2017, Start-up and Innovation Corner–under its former name–highlighted start-ups from the healthcare sector, such as InSimu Patient, which leads medical diagnostic education into the 21st century, as well as other key start-ups from Hungary, such as Be-novative or Rendi. The Tapia AI Robot from South Korea was one of the main attractions of the event.

We hope that the circumstances will allow us next year to organise the Expo.

Innovation Talks

As one of its side events, Innovation Talks aims to showcase and discuss influential topics covered at the think.BDPST conference on innovation throughout the year.

It is indisputable that innovation will play an even more important role in the future, which is why we believe that think.BDPST Innovation Talks has to present the most significant emerging sectors and innovations of our time.

think.BDPST is devoted to providing a platform for Hungarian, as well as foreign innovations and researchers results. The aim of the Innovation Talks is to spread the ideas and visions of innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs, which can thus help the participants of the programme to develop a new kind of innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.

Contemporary Hungarian inventors have achieved many outstanding results in the field of science. On the one hand, at think.BDPST we aim to give an initial boost to early-stage innovations through our events and wide partner network. On the other hand, we believe that the speakers’ innovative way of thinking can help the young audience to develop a new innovative way of thinking and to turn their ideas into reality. Therefore, think.BDPST is determined to bring together Hungarian and foreign speakers, who have shown excellent results in their fields of expertise.

First Innovation Talks Event

At the first Innovation Talks event, we focused on one of the most challenging processes for modern societies: ensuring the protection of personal, business, and other data against cyber-attacks. Protecting data and information processed in electronic information systems is a growing a challenge for the states, municipal and economic actors, as well as a threat to citizens. During the presentation, the invited cyber security expert speaker presented the most relevant areas where further regulations are needed, as well as an overview of efforts to increase safety, such as the EU’s GDPR Regulation and its impact based on the experience of recent years.
