Innovative Ideas in Aeronautics – How Flying Machines Broaden the Way We Think About Mobility


Krzysztof Hipolit Piwek, Senior Designer, with more than 45 years of experience in aircraft design. From 1972 to 1997, was employee of Aircraft Factory WSK “PZL-Mielec” - from engineer to Factory Chief Designer (M20 ”Mewa”, M26 “Iskierka” aircrafts), and Research and Development Manager. From 1997 up to now, has worked in Instytut Lotnictwa. At present, Head of Aircraft Design Office (ADOA) in the Institute connected with composite aircraft I-23 “Manager,” aircraft with small turboprop engine I-31T, and others. Has a good experience in the coordination of European projects (coordinator of EPATS, SAT-Rdmp projects; Leader responsible for a one of the subproject in ESPOSA project); was also initiator to incorporate Small Air Transport domain to Clean Sky 2 Programme. His professional life is connected with designing, testing, certifying, and implementing small airplanes especially into European Air Transport System.
