Géza Németh received his MSc in Electrical Engineering, his Dr Univ in Signal Processing, and his PhD in Speech Processing at BME-TMIT in 1983, 1987 and 1997, respectively. He is currently Associate Professor and the Head of the Speech Communications and Smart Interaction Laboratories of BME-TMIT. He has led several speech research and technology development projects as a pioneer of speech technology applications in Hungary. He has been the Hungarian coordinator for several EU supported projects. His outstanding work was acknowledged with several awards, including the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic in 2004 for speech applications for blind people. He has more than 170 scientific publications. Currently, he is the Hungarian National Contact Person for the AI4EU project (www.ai4eu.org), and he is leading the International Relations Workgroup of the Hungarian Artificial Intelligence Coalition.
