Organised annually in Budapest by the Antall József Knowledge Centre in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary and with the support of the International Visegrad Fund, think.BDPST is a strategic conference focusing on perspectives of research, innovation, and future technologies. Featured topics of the 2018 event include future transport, smart cities, and urban innovation.

The main objective of the think.BDPST conference is to provide a regional platform for high-level representatives of the governmental, academic, and business sectors to initiate dialogue about the different approaches to innovation and new technologies, including the security, economic, and social dimensions. think.BDPST also offers an opportunity for policymakers to discuss possibilities of fostering smart growth solutions, exchanging experience and best practices, as well as drafting joint action plans.

With initiating such dialogues, the conference aims to boost cooperation, promote the implementation of joint activities, as well as facilitate the formation of strategic partnerships in the Central European region, with special regard to the V4 countries. The conference can greatly contribute to the establishment of a common regional development framework.

During the three panels, three keynote lectures, and many side events of the conference, the following topics will be discussed in greater detail: humans and machines and their cooperation in the 21st century; mobility on land, earth, and air; and technological frontiers in transportation.

The colourful side events of the conference will enable multi-stakeholders in attendance to participate in networking and immerse themselves into topics they are most interested in. 

The Start-up Expo provides an opportunity to civil organisations, start-ups, and companies working in the field of innovation, research and development, introduce themselves to the audience, as well as find business partners and create powerful synergies.

The think.BDPST Young Leaders’ Forum (YLF) features outstanding young professionals (aged 24-38) soon to become important actors and decision-makers in the field of innovation, urban design, transport, automotive industry, informatics, and connected social sciences and legal studies. The main purpose of YLF is to foster a lively dialogue among young innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs, PhD researchers, policy experts active in public administration, and young professionals working at companies that are investing in innovative projects. During the four-day event, participants have the opportunity to exchange best practices, good experience, ideas, and knowledge and improve their skills through panel discussions and workshops. 

The involvement of key actors from many sectors and their elaborate discussions on issues such as research, development, and innovation will most certainly attract the attention of the media, national and international alike.

think.BDPST will assist Hungary and the region in claiming their place on the map of high technologies and also facilitate the process of creating value-adding jobs and investments both in the region and in Hungary.
